Kid was walking down the halls of the DWMA headed to the death room where he had an appointment with his father.

*What could father possibly want?* Kid thought as he slowly walked through the death room doors.

Lord death turned and smiled under his mask, giving a peace sign. "Hey there Kiddo, long time no see!" Death said happily.

Kid gave an unnoticeable small grin. "Hello Father." He said pleasantly, walking over to his father.

"What was it you wanted to talk to me about?" Kid asked shifting his weight to one foot.

Death's face suddenly became serious as he spoke. "Kid… your turning sixteen here shortly and as a Shinigami you have a responsibility to the world…" Death trailed off, looking at Kid almost sad.

Kid quirked an eyebrow and tilted his head to the side. "Yes?" Kid asked suspiciously.

Death sighed. "You need to find someone… someone to love, and maybe stand by you when you finally succeed me." Death finished. He looked up to see Kid's face was white as a sheet, and his eyes were the size of dinner plates.

"W-what do you mean?" Kid asked, a little freaked.

"You need a lover… if possible, before your birthday!" Death finished giving a smile and peace sign.

"Y-your acting like that's a simple thing!!!" Kid exclaimed loudly, flailing his arms.


Death sweat dropped. "Uhhh… Kid, you're a good looking boy, your rich, you have a guaranteed future as the next Lord of all death. You're a prince of death… now think… why on EARTH would YOU have trouble finding a lover?" Death looked at his son with an amused expression.

Kid lowered his head. *Hmmm… maybe he's right… it wouldn't be TOO hard…* Kid thought looking back up at his father. "Alright father! But first I have to tell you something." Kid said looking at his father with a face that was all seriousness.

*I have to tell him… or he'll think that I'm going to bring home a GIRL…* Kid shuddered.

"Yes Kid?" Death pressed.

Kid lowered his head, staring at his shoes. "I'm gay… so don't expect me to get a girlfriend." Kid said with a bit of disgust in his voice when he said 'girlfriend'. He wasn't against girls; he could just never see himself dating one……… EVER!!!!!!!!

"And I have a crush on someone!" Kid said clasping his eyes shut waiting for his father to tell him how wrong it was.

He waited and waited, but the scolding never came. He looked up at his father, only to see said death god wearing a happy smile. "Oh Kid, I'm so proud of you!" Death exclaimed embracing his son in a hug.

Kids eyes widened, did he hear what he thought he just heard? "What?" Kid said pulling away.

"Kid, I'm proud because I know that was hard for you. And I really don't care what your sexuality is as long as you're happy!" Death said turning and walking the other way.

He lifted his hand and waved to his son. "Now go get him, son." Death said before disappearing completely.

Kid smiled and nodded. "Yes Father." And with that he walked away.
